After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a 2:1 in English Studies and a PGCE in Further Education, Nick went on to teach in a variety of places including Chesterfield College, Sheffield College and even Northern Racing College.
At these colleges, Nick developed his range of subject knowledge and teaching style. He now has experience of teaching English from Key Stage 2 through to A2 level, as well as Key/Functional/Basic Skills.
In 2011, Nick became self-employed because he wanted to teach smaller groups and individuals. This was because he believes much more teaching and learning occurs in this setting as it allows the focus to be tailored to each learner. It also means that learners who are struggling with English due to conditions such as dyslexia can be tutored much more effectively.
When he’s not teaching, Nick enjoys nothing more than playing his guitar... although his neighbours don’t share his enthusiasm!
