Joel completed his degree in mathematics at Imperial College London and he attained his PGCE from the University of Sheffield.
He has taught in Sheffield schools, colleges and as a tutor for the last four years. He is an Expert Examiner for an examination board.
Joel has a good understanding of the differant ways of teaching, the examination process and exam techniques.
Joel has developed his craft of identifying a students’ gaps in knowledge and misconceptions, before applying the correct remedy.
Joel's approach usually centres around guiding the student through the learning experience and bringing together all their different mathematical knowledge as well as sharing his love and understanding of mathematics.
When not teaching, he is involved in numerous school and college clubs including being a co-ordinator for the National Cipher Challenge 2018. Joel also spends his time playing the piano, reading and is a keen climber.
